SMART Photonics offers a versatile production and development portfolio. First of all, easy access via Multi-Project Wafer runs enables low-cost and fast prototyping for photonic integrated circuits. Secondly we offer engineering of the process to create the customer product with customer specifications. Production development services are offered for volume production of customer products.

Generic integration process

Our main offering is our generic integration process. The process supports actives: lasers, optical amplifiers, phase modulators, detectors, and passives: waveguides, couplers and demultiplexers. This process allows for fast prototyping and low cost development without compromising performance and functionality. This standardization of the process allows for easy up-scaling to volume production. Custom designed photonic integrated circuits can be developed using an extensive building block library, hence no in-depth knowledge of the technology is required for the user. Customized processes

SMART Photonics offers generic technology processes as well as engineered custom processes. We offer the full process from Epitaxial growth and regrowth to advanced lithography, wet and dry etching to grinding and polishing and coating. Toolset
