Job description 

As our Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing business value, transaction volume and profitability on a portfolio of our key customer accounts. You do this by focusing on a great customer experience, highly effective and smooth communication and making sure that you handle all aspects of the relationship with our customer. You will work within our dynamic and international Sales and Marketing team and be supported by our Product Management and R&D organization to support our key customers business from an ongoing technical, operational, and business perspective.

In the end your mission is to grow our business and do this in collaboration with some of the most outstanding technology firms out there. In order to achieve this, you will:

  • Build strong partnerships and maintain excellent relations with our customers.
  • Support the key customers during their journey from first prototype to product introduction and commercial success.
  • Identify strategic transaction and growth opportunities for SMART Photonics at existing and new customers.
  • Actively pursue deal optimizing strategies and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain highly effective and reliable communication channels with our customers.
  • Manage the interface of our customers to all internal stakeholders seamlessly, through strong internal communication and alignment.
  • Prepare and share strategic account planning and status updates for the allocated accounts with relevant KPI’s to track progress
  • Represent the organization at important industry events and participate in industry specific activities
  • Ensure maximum penetration of key accounts globally.

Finally, you will need to have great internal stakeholder management skills, and not be afraid to challenge existing processes, suggest improvements or drive change by working closely with the relevant departments all around our business.

The ideal candidate is / has:

  • A Bachelor or Master degree in a technical field, preferably electronics or physics. A relevant technical background is a must for this position.
  • 4+ years of experience in an account management or technical sales position focused on production and / or manufacturing.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of building strong customer relationships.
  • Experience in negotiating, writing sales contracts and large project proposals.
  • Experience in Datacomand telecoms markets or sensing applications is a strong plus.
  • Experience in a scale-up organization is a plus.
  • Ability to interact with all levels within the company, with strong emphasis on the sales team.
