PIC & Mask Design Engineer

SMART Photonics is a rapidly growing, ambitious high-tech company. As a foundry for integrated protonic circuits, SMART Photonics offers solutions for data and telecommunication, as well as for sensing – such as Lidar – and medical applications. Our customers will define the functional and technical requirements for the components as well as deliver their own design. It is your responsibility to convert them into a full and manufacturable design for the next generation of photonic components and/or photonic integrated chips.

You also will be responsible for executing and leading the inhouse design & layout process for our own building blocks, R&D team as well as talk to our customers and other design houses to find the edges of design capabilities and new to develop features.

We are looking for a person who has/is

• 2+ years of wafer design / mask design in the field of semiconductor integrated circuits.
• Experience in layout design of optical / electro-optical devices.
• Knowledge of Klayout and Azure as well as a programming background.
• Flexible and able to adjust strategy, we are in a very dynamic field and moment in time. Not one single boring working day is a fact.
• Living (or willing to relocate) in or near Eindhoven area. The job can be done partly remote however also requires you to be onsite a few times a week.
