As part of the vertical integration and product engineering group, this position involves contributing to the development of the next generation of photonic integrated chips. The Vertical Integration Engineering (VIE) team is mainly focused on implementing incoming new products from our customers, industrialisation of our manufacturing, improving our product and line yield, understanding the root causes of technological issues and reducing our cycle time of our products in the manufacturing line. Essentially, as a yield engineer, you familiarise yourself with the processes and our yield definition. We also expect you to set the standard on how to collect the needed data and how we are going to use it.

Job responsibilities

  • Work closely with the integration team on developing metrics, root cause analysis and acting for yield development and improvement.
  • Serve as a key role in identifying and implementing new methods for yield analysis
  • Bring strong troubleshooting skills, ownership & quality mindset with ability to work well in a matrix team environment.
  • Have a good understanding of line yield, in-line trend shift and new product introduction (NPI)
  • Define process windows that ensure high electrical yield, based on available and experimental data.
  • Use knowledge of semiconductor device physics, electronics, and semiconductor manufacturing process to explain and resolve yield issues.
  • Capable to Design, execute, and analyse complex experiments.
  • Use software to analyse data including statistical analysis; Consults with senior level engineers on experimental results to make decisions about large scale changes.
  • Communicate technical information to senior leadership outside of the department through presentations.
  • Understand our 3-5 semiconductor processing including MOCVD, FEOL and BEOL.

We are looking for a person who has/is

  • BS or MS in physics, electrical engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field.
  • 4-6 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry involved in Yield engineering.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience in analysing complex data
  • Analysis skills, including yield analysis, electrical device characterisation, yield issue investigations, data mining, DOE and SPC.
  • Programming and/or scripting experience is a plus.
  • Flexibility to tackle challenges in a scale up and apply a broad foundation of knowledge to identify methods of investigation and study.
  • Ability to prioritise and execute on multiple projects simultaneously
