To achieve our ambitious goals, we are expanding our Processing Team, and recruiting a Senior Wet Etch Engineer.

Job description

Together with your Cluster Lead and direct colleagues, you are responsible for developing and optimizing the fabrication processes used to create photonic devices, such as lasers, optical amplifiers, and photonic integrated circuits.

The goal is to ensure that our processes are efficient, cost-effective, and produce high-quality products that meet our customer specifications.

As a Senior Wet-Etch Engineer, you will report to the Cluster Lead. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and Sustain our wet etch processes, as well as our recipes;
  • Help in assuring that all wet etch processes are released on time with the right qualifications, while respecting our safety guidelines;
  • Support the production daily challenges;
  • Plan and drive new tool releases;
  • In charge of maintaining and continuously improve the process, through SPC, Cp/CpK; (e.g. tool are down in the morning, in production, how do you solve it?)
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve production issues;
  • Interact with equipment engineering, operation, and management to improve cycle time, tool availability, quality and product yields;
  • Communicate with your direct colleagues as well as several departments (E.g. R&D, Quality, Procurement, integration etc);

We are looking for a person who:

  • Has a M.Sc. degree plus at least 7 years of semiconductor chemical wet-etch experience OR a PhD degree in the field of Materials Science, Physical Chemistry, or similar, plus 5 years of experience;
  • Has a good understanding of various processes and the strict safety guidelines used in the fabrication of semiconductor integrated circuits;
  • Has a hands-on mentality and Eye for Quality, with the ambition to drive operational excellence and adapt to daily challenges;
  • Has proven experience with improving processes and using statistical tools (e.g. FMEA, SPC, DoE);
  • Has a natural drive to take ownership and get the job done;
  • Strong communications skills in English and in collaborating with colleagues and departments.
