Introduction

As a FA Specialist you will become part of the FA team. In this hands-on position you support FA with operational tasks, several analysis and overall preparation.

You collect, prepare and analyse the data, share outcomes with your team. You enjoy working on details and with numbers and data. Next to supporting role we also expect you to manage your own tasks and see options to improve our daily jobs. SMART Photonics is a leading provider of InP (Indium Phosphide) foundry services, specializing in the fabrication of next generation photonic chips (PIC’s). With a strong commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction, we are at the forefront of technological advancements in the field.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse samples from InP wafers or dies at various stages of completion to support fab operations
  • Interface with failure analysis and process / test engineers, work on individual product analysis cases, and supply initial technical reports of analysis
  • Sample preparation for product analysis techniques – SEM, TEM, FIB, AFM, Optical microscopy. (cleanroom work)
  • Operation of scanning electron microscope, focused ion beam, optical microscopes, and other small equipment
  • Contribute to improvements in the existing failure analysis process
  • Interfacing with internal customers (RD, Reliability and Integration teams)
  • Collaboration with external failure analysis labs on failure analysis
  • Working with sample preparation chemicals in a lab environment

 

Skills Required

  • MBO or bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in a wafer fab or other relevant industry
  • A strong affinity with Failure Analysis, quality and working with numbers.
  • Hands-on experience in microscopy and other failure analysis techniques
  • Experience of wire bonding and basic electrical tests is a plus
  • Knowledge of suitable FA techniques for different use cases
  • Available for the 2-shift schedule (1 week the morning shift 6.00 to 14.15 hours, next week the evening shift 14.00 to 22.30 hours)
