Duits-Nederlandse publiek-private studie onderbouwt de noodzaak van structurele keuzes in Nederlands en Europees chipbeleid
De Europese vraag naar halfgeleiders neemt de komende jaren sterk toe, vooral in sectoren waarin Europa traditioneel sterk is, zoals industriële automatisering, MedTech en mobiliteit. Richting 2040 verdubbelt de Europese vraag naar chips grofweg, zeker vanuit de Europese industrie waar de vraag naar chips groeit naar circa 2,4 keer het huidige niveau. Dat blijkt uit de European Semiconductor Demand Study. FME waarschuwt dat het onzeker is of de benodigde investeringen om hierop in te spelen loskomen en pleit voor gerichte politieke keuzes én gezamenlijke actie van de industrie.
