SMART Photonics is a rapidly growing, ambitious open foundry on InP Photonics. We are unique in offering our customers a Process Design Kit (PDK) which allows them to design complex photonic circuits. Our customers come from a range of market sectors, including telecom/datacom, medical sensing, automotive/lidar and quantum technologies.
We are looking for experienced professionals to expand the Process Engineering Team.
The position offers you a combination of operational and hands-on challenges as well as some tasks more related to process improvement and long term strategy. To succeed in this position you truly offer a production mindset; You oversee the complex epitaxy process and how this adds to the bigger manufacturing process of Photonic Integrated Chips.
Job description and daily tasks:
- Responsible for maintaining, improving, and co-developing the epitaxy processes to manufacturing photonic integrated chips.
- Together with the team you align on operational tasks and priorities, to keep the reactor up and the epitaxy process running smooth for our production team is priority 1.
- Participate in various cross functional teams to improve yields, solve process problems, simplify procedures, processes and selection, qualification and release of new tools and processes with improved capacity and capability.
- You will oversee and work collaboratively with production and quality colleagues, to assure orders are completed on time and within specification.
- Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variation for process or material specifications.
We are looking for a person who has/is
- A technical degree on Bachelor level or up.
- Solid industry experience and understanding of Aixtron reactors, epitaxy growth and linked processes.
- Offering 2 to 5 years of process engineering experience (graduation and internships not included) in a semiconductor environment.
- A real production mindset and drive.
- In depth knowledge and proven experience off process improvement and statistical tools like FMEA, SPC, DoE.
- Experience supporting a fab operations team, training of fab procedures, root cause analysis and problem resolution.
- Familiar on SPTS, LAM, AMAT systems for PECVD/ICP, are added advantages.
- Familiar with problem solving tools, 8D, RCA and/or Six Sigma Methodology, are added advantages.
- Teamwork Spirit, true Ownership and Bias for Action are key to success in this role.
- Living in commuting distance from Eindhoven (NL) or willing to relocate.
